QXR-Mme

QXR "Meatball" Sorter/Separator

Austin AI's QXR technology can automatically identify and remove motor coils, "meatballs", representing a significant amount of copper impurities in ferrous lots. This technology improves over manual removal, in that it is tuned to meet the processing capabilities of the scrap yard. There is little error due to misidentification due to size, contaminants, or other hindrances common to visual inspection.

The QXR-Mme is a proprietary, In-Line, Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) for non-destructive sorting and separating of copper materials from shredded ferrous material. The system will be designed to automatically reject "meatballs" defined as copper bearing, electric motor armatures; free copper such as wire bundles; and copper and copper alloy metal attached to ferrous material. The QXR-Mme provides years of reliable, fast and accurate separation for increased quality assurance and maximum recovery and purity of resalable product.
